May 2026: Everything We Improved for You
Google for Jobs · More accessible homepage · Cleaner, faster site
In May we focused on getting your listings found on Google, making the platform more accessible, and trimming everything that slowed it down. Here is what we improved.
Your Listings Now in Google for Jobs
May 18
We implemented JobPosting structured data on project pages, so your listings can appear directly in Google’s job search with all the key details.
- Complete data: Title, description, date posted, validity date, employment type and hiring organization
- Remote work: Support for fully remote listings (TELECOMMUTE) alongside physical locations
- Salary visible: The salary range is included in the markup for greater transparency with candidates
- More free visibility: Greater organic reach at no extra cost for those who post projects
A More Accessible Homepage
May 31
- Keyboard navigation: The search, hero and process tabs can now be operated entirely with the keyboard
- ARIA semantics: Screen readers correctly announce each tab, improving accessibility for everyone
- Inclusive by design: We meet web accessibility standards so no one is left out
Honest Numbers, No Inflation
May 31
- Real statistics: We replaced inflated figures with verified data on the homepage. We prefer the truth over appearances
- Mobile app “Coming soon”: The App Store badge now honestly says it’s on the way, instead of linking to an empty page
- Latin American names: Profile examples reflect real names from the region rather than generic placeholders
- Console cleanup: We removed internal diagnostic messages for a cleaner, faster load
Cleaner Search Index & Crawl Budget
May 18
- No more duplicate content: Removed attachment URLs from the sitemap and 301-redirected attachment pages to their parent
- 557 redundant URLs cleared: These attachment URLs are no longer indexed, saving crawl budget for pages that matter
- Stronger SEO foundation: Search engines now focus on real content instead of orphaned media pages
Front-End Polish
May 31
- Calmer subscribe popup: The newsletter popup now shows once, respects consent and closes on backdrop click, with no more nagging
- Secure by default: Upgraded mixed-content requests to HTTPS and fixed a toolbar 404
- Faster fonts: Added font preconnect for quicker text rendering
- Honest navigation: Disabled “coming soon” links that led nowhere
