My Journey to Building a Platform for the Real Economy

When I first moved to Paraguay as a foreigner, settling into a rural area presented a unique set of challenges. Despite being fluent in Spanish, I struggled to find basic services like plumbers, electricians, and other essential workers. The situation was drastically different from what I was used to. In the cities, yes, there were workers available, but finding them in rural areas proved to be an entirely different task. Unlike other countries, Paraguay lacked a comprehensive directory or yellow pages. Instead, telephone books were provided by banks, but only to those who held accounts with them, and even then, they only listed companies that also had accounts there.

Another significant issue I encountered was the lack of trust. As a foreigner, even with my Spanish skills, I found it difficult to rely on verbal agreements. Trust is a crucial element, especially when you’re dealing with services and payments. Unfortunately, issues of corruption and security concerns are pervasive, adding another layer of complexity to the situation. I quickly realized that there was a gap in the market for a solution that could bring transparency, trust, and accessibility to the real economy, particularly for gig services.

The Birth of Trabajo24™

This was the inspiration behind Trabajo24™. I envisioned a platform where people could hire reviewed and trusted contractors, not only in urban areas but also in remote and rural regions. The idea was to create a reliable space where users could find professionals with proven track records, thus reducing the risks associated with hiring unknown workers. Additionally, Trabajo24™ offers a great tool for planning, allowing users to quickly check the cost of services and budget accordingly for future projects.

After dedicating over 12 months to building the platform, it became clear that the issues I faced in Paraguay were not unique. The entire continent was affected by similar challenges. Moreover, I realized that conventional payment options like PayPal, credit cards, or even bank transfers were often restricted or not available, making financial transactions even more complicated.

Overcoming Challenges and Gaining Traction

During this time, Trabajo24™ began gaining significant attention on Facebook, indicating a growing interest and need for such a platform. However, to truly scale and meet the needs of users across Latin America, I needed more resources. I moved back to Switzerland to secure additional funding and continued to invest heavily in the platform. To date, I have personally invested over 25,000 Swiss francs.

One of the major milestones was partnering with Inswitch, the largest payment provider in South America. Inswitch offers us a robust banking system, which we have already integrated into our platform. However, to fully activate these integrations, we need to cover the setup fees for the APIs, which amount to 30,000 USD.

The Birth of the T24 Token Ecosystem

By July 2023, I realized that I couldn’t fund the platform’s development entirely on my own. This led me to brainstorm ways to create a sustainable token ecosystem that could support the platform’s future growth. After five months of intense brainstorming, I discovered a vulnerability in our new banking integration—everything was being called directly by APIs. This insight led to a breakthrough: the concept of a real utility token that would play a crucial role in our platform’s validation system.

In December 2023, we began developing the T24 token ecosystem, despite ongoing financial struggles. With sheer determination and continuous investment of my own money, we have made significant progress. Today, I am excited to announce that we are ready to launch our token presale, which will enable us to further develop and enhance the platform.

The Future of Trabajo24™: A New Era

In March 2024, we began integrating advanced features into our platform, including AI-driven functionalities and a completely redesigned UI/UX for both the web platform and our mobile app. We are now poised to relaunch Trabajo24™ on a global scale with www.trabajo24.ai. This relaunch will feature our integration with Inswitch, a new app, a new user interface, and our very own T24 token.
